CARLA BUSUTTIL
Carla Busuttil is an artist and educator. She works across painting, textiles, video and performance. Through these mediums, she uses multi-layered references to create new imaginings, engaging with socio-politics and culture from a contemporary and critical perspective.
Currently they are working in collaboration with experimental sound collectives Ways Towards Something (Vivid Lab) and Spectral Karaoke performing in various locations across the UK. The focus of these two groups is to create live, improvised, performances that merge digital and analogue sounds and imagery into a collective response.
As an educator Busuttil has worked with Ikon Gallery, BIMM University, University of Birmingham, The Barber Institute, Nirox Foundation and BCU delivering workshops and lectures. They currently live and work in Birmingham, UK.
